Oh, wow...I can't really have faves since I love them all...however...I'd have to say...Two Towers was my fave above the others...but by very little..

Ack! This is so hard. The Fellowship shall always rate highly as it introduced a lot of people to the series. Plus there was a guy drooling all over Orlando Bloom...he he he! He wasn't the only one drooling over him...
Two Towers had great action and wet Aragorn...not that it holds any sway...but then there is Return of the King...
It's too hard. I don't want to choose at the moment over all of them, but it is between Return and Fellowship.

Honestly I have to say that the first time I went to see the Fellowship I was rather nonplused. I'd only just started reading the book and so I was getting a little confused. But by the end I'd been drawn into it, then it ended, lol.
The second time was much better, I was about half-way through the book and knew what to expect. Although for the guys out there, don't take your non-girlfriends on non-dates to see Lord of the Rings.
The Two Towers ranks pretty highly, I mean I saw that film five times in two different countries, including twice with Alamdothiel and once on a school trip.
The Return of the King I saw four times and the first time I saw it I was paranoid that I'd be disappointed. I wasn't.
The Fellowship had to go into all the detail of introducing the characters, which probably slowed things down a bit. The Two Towers already had the characters established (for those who'd been bothered to see it, a la the boys sat behind us the first time we saw it), but really it was just sort of moving on. The Return of the King ended everything, although I missed the Scouring of the Shire.
Hmm... a little indecisive you see, but I liked them all a lot, just not sure how I'd rank them...

The return of the king just pips the other films because if you look closely where sam saves Frodo his boxers are visible, he is sooooo fit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't notice that, well RotK deserves another watching then. On the topic of Frodo's boxers, or rather Elijah Wood's. I saw a film with him in where he dies because he got an electric shock to through the butt.

If we're going by mistakes, then Two Towers opening bit beats them all. In one sequence Gimli drops something and Legolas trips over!
