Which set do you have? « Thread Started on Aug 18, 2004, 4:10pm »
I know that there are several different sets of the books. One which has 13 different books, another which has four.
My set is the hard cover three volume set, with a paper back index. Each of the three books cost £30 and the paper back cost about £7/8. The pages are also like bible pages, really thin, and delicate.
So do you have your own set or do you borrow from the library?

My wife had a paperback set that was falling apart so I bought her the Voyager Classics set of four. Silmarillion, Fellowship, Two Towers and Return of the King. They are called a French cover, which is some where half way between a paper back and hard cover. I think investing in the hard cover sets would be a good investment and I intend to do so. In Canada they are about 45 to 60 dollars. I will buy the books to which you can find page references on in the History of Middle Earth series. Not all books will be this way and I believe the ones that do follow the original publications. I would like to purchase a CD version of all the books but I would like it read from the original version. If anyone knows which version is best I would appreciate your suggestions.
